Conference FAQs

Below are some common FAQs that might help answer any questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact us for any other concerns you might have.

When does registration open?

Early Bird registration opens on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 and runs until Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. Full Registration begins on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021.

When does registration close?
Registration will run from Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, until Saturday, November 13th, 2021.
How much does the conference cost?

Please follow this link to the various registration costs for the conference.

Can I purchase multiple registration passes?
Each registration pass will be linked to an individual so you may purchase as many passes as you need, you will just need to make sure to fill in the information for each ticket holder.
Is the conference in person or virtual?
The RISE 2021 conference will all be virtual this year.
Is there a discount for students?

Yes, there are student discounts available. Please follow this link to the various registration costs for the conference.

What is the theme of this conference?
The theme of the conference is RISE. The 4 letters stand for Resource, Inclusion, Support, and Elevate. Please visit our program page to learn more about each conference track based on these 4 themes.
Will I be able to get CE at RISE 2021?
Yes, 50 hours of RACE-approved CE will be available to all attendees for RISE 2021 between the Live and On-Demand component of the conference.
Why are you only having BIPOC speakers?
Foundational to MCVMA’s mission is to create a more equitable profession. Therefore, with the understanding that BIPOC individuals are often overlooked, dismissed, or unable to participate in various speaking engagements, it is our goal to provide the space to elevate BIPOC speakers into the spotlight and ensure that their voices are heard and recognized in the profession.
Who is invited to attend the conference?
The conference is open to everyone in the veterinary space: pre-vets, vet and vet nursing students, graduates, and vet community supporters. Whether BIPOC or allies, all are welcomed to attend, support, and learn from our amazing list of speakers.
What is the RISE Conference?
MCVMA is hosting its first-ever Annual Conference this year and has named 2021’s conference RISE in support of the conference’s theme. The theme is expected to change from year to year.

What will I get out of attending this conference?
The MCVMA Annual Conference 2021 – themed RISE this year will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) professionals in veterinary medicine. RISE 2021 will offer 50 hours of RACE-approved CE with topics ranging from emergency medicine, surgery, and community practice to animal welfare, access to veterinary care, wellbeing, and the latest Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work developing in the profession. The conference is open to everyone in the veterinary space: pre-vets, vet and vet nursing students, graduates, and vet community supporters.
Will the conference sessions be recorded to view later?

Yes, those who purchase their tickets to this conference will have the opportunity to view the recorded sessions in the 90-days following the conclusion of the conference on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
